Philosophy

I believe that some proficiency in math is a life necessity, and is certainly critical for the college bound student. Most importantly, because math is a subject that builds upon itself, the student who advances to the next math level after only “treading water” at their present level will become more frustrated and discouraged. It is essential that the student grasp the material, rather than just get through the class, if they are to be successful.

I know I can help them accomplish this, and I offer the following:

  • Private tutoring in Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2 and Trigonometry, Precalculus, Calculus, Chemistry and Physics
  • Knowledge on what skills will be necessary for higher level math and real life applications
  • Familiarity with the academic maturity levels of boys and girls, and the differences between them
  • Ability to calm a frustrated, upset student who has lost, or never gained self confidence in math and/or science

I know I can help a student become just as successful in math and the physical sciences as most other students, if they are willing to put forth the effort.
